Sant Cugat West Urban Development. Volpelleres Sector

Development of a residential area with a capacity for 3,300 units in the Volpelleres area of Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona). The total urbanized surface area is 120ha, of which 177,000m² has been allocated to roads and parking and 336,000m² to parks and green areas.

Of particular note, amongst others:

• 2 viaducts of 200m in length with 8 spans of 25m each.
• Mixed structure viaduct 100m in length and 40m maximum free span over the A-7  Motorway and B-30 (of a total of 12 lanes in service).
• Two urban tunnels of 275m in length for the widening from 2 to 4 lanes of the North Sant Cugat Ring Road, covered by two arches each 9,25m wide .
• Overpass on the future TGV line with 42m beams.
• 2 underpasses below the FGC (Regional Autonomous Rail Network), 24 and 10 metres wide.
• 2 overpasses above the Barcelona-Sabadell FGC line.
• Viaduct over the West Volpelleres River, 60m span.

The work was completed by the construction of the sewerage network, drains, mains water distribution, the supply and distribution of electricity, telecommunications network and street lighting, paving, street furniture as well as planting trees, an irrigation system and landscaping.
